Costumes


Title: Whistler's harmony in flesh and pink tones               Date: Spring 2014               

The silk skirt and sleeves are mounted on silk organza, all pink material is silk duchess satin. All frills and froth are hand scalloped or dagger, hand pleated and 95% of them are then hand sewn onto the garment. All of the lace used had to be altered, either hand painted, or cut out as it was sold as a lace fabric. All of the seams in the bodice are authentically hand scalloped and hand stitched over. All seams in the skirt are simply hand scalloped.

An Edwardian garment made for Fullerton Colleges production of “The Seagull”. While I completely constructed the skirt and waist cinch, the top was created with the aid of Mela Hoyt-Heydon.

 

Title: 1870's undergarments               Date: Spring-2014

The combination is made out of a light cotton and tea stained, all of the frills at the are cut out but hand and then gathered onto the cuffs. All of the button holes on the combination are traditional hand made decorative button holes. I also hand made lace on the neckline of the combination. The corset is made out of coutil and silk taffeta, with soft leather boning channels. 

Title: Dr. Carrasco (Man of La Mancha                    Date:     03-2011
Description: This piece was built for Fullerton College's production of "The Man of La Mancha". The bulk of the coat is made out of velvet accents on both arms and on either side in the form of slits. The belt and collar where also hand made out of leather. Please note cowl and hat are the only pieces not personally constructed.  

Title: Belmonte, from Mozarts Seraglio                    Date: Winter-2014

This is a theatrical interpretation of a 17th C. mens traveling costume designed by David Collis. It is made to look as if it it light, breathable and easy to move in, as the character travels to warmer climates. The stripes on the waist coat are painted ribbon to give the same feel as the brush strokes in the design, and costume is lightly broken into.

Description: Full costume including fitted chemise, kirttle, over skirt and female doublet hand made. All patterns where either drafted or altered to fit. Included are hand sewn eyelets, hand made button. Please note sleeves are lined, can be unhooked and detached.
